|
|
There is an option that seems to be lost in Nuendo 4. When I bring up the generic remote and look at the midi input I only see hardware inputs and I do not see any plugins. I am also running Nunedo 2 and this shows the current plugins just fine. Does any one know if Steinberg stripped this? This is a very needed feature for me. Strangely the output shows plugins.
Here is what I am trying to do. Generic remote is super flexible and it can drive anything in the mixer from channel volumes to insert plugins. In Nuendo 2 I can pull up the generic remote and select Reaktor for the input. This allows me to control any plugin from Reaktor. When I open up Nuendo 4 I do not see any plugins all I see it the hardware.
When I create a midi track there is the option to use a plugin as the input so why is it not showing up in generic remote?
A work around would be to use an external midi cable. This makes me a little nervous as things would be dependent on outside devises. I would also have to create midi tracks that map out and back in.
Thanks for any ideas or info. _________________ Nuendo 4, Sonica Hush RT-8 with XP Pro, RME Fireface 800, Waves Diamond. |

Hello, and lots o' thanks for your feedback on my Generic Remote issue!
Re your troubles, one solution that springs to mind would be to use a MIDI loopback driver such as MIDI Yoke from http://www.midiox.com. Don't know if there are better ones, but MIDI Yoke seems to get mentioned a lot. |

Hey that loop back works great. I have tried two others without success. I think the install was getting confused. I tried midi loopbe and midiloopback2.5.
For some reason the parameter (knob) I am controlling is snapping to only three angles instead of a full 360 (not a smooth sweep). I will try and map to some other plugins and see if it works else where.
Thanks again! _________________ Nuendo 4, Sonica Hush RT-8 with XP Pro, RME Fireface 800, Waves Diamond. |

I mapped a few more plugins (nuendo 4 eq and waves plugs) and they all seems to have smooth increments. It must be just this single plugin in Nuendo 4. Works fine in Nuendo 2. Maybe the VST3 protocol. _________________ Nuendo 4, Sonica Hush RT-8 with XP Pro, RME Fireface 800, Waves Diamond. |
